1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owner.
2. How we use cookies
CostMyBusiness does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or social media tracking technologies. We do not track visitors across this website or any other site.
This is why you do not see a cookie consent banner when you visit costmybusiness.co.uk — under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, PECR), a consent banner is only required where non-essential cookies are in use. We have deliberately built this site to avoid them.
3. Strictly necessary functions
While we do not set tracking or analytics cookies, the following strictly necessary technologies operate on this site:
Cloudflare Turnstile
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against automated spam submissions. When you visit a page containing the contact form, Turnstile analyses certain browser signals (such as how you interact with the page) to verify that you are a human visitor.
Turnstile does not set persistent tracking cookies on your device and does not track your activity across websites. It processes the minimum data necessary to perform its spam-protection function. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK-US Data Bridge), which provides an adequate level of protection for any data processed in connection with this function.
For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Browser and server interactions
When you visit any website, your browser and the web server exchange certain technical information — including your IP address — as a standard part of delivering web pages. This is not specific to CostMyBusiness and is a function of how the internet works. Our hosting provider, Bluehost, may log this information briefly as part of normal server operation. These interactions do not involve persistent cookies.
4. Managing cookies
Even though we use no non-essential cookies, you can control and delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Here is how to do this in the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions
- Apple Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings → Privacy
- Apple Safari (iPhone/iPad, iOS 18+): Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced
Please note that restricting strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of some websites, including the spam-protection function on our contact form.
5. Changes to this policy
This website currently uses no non-essential cookies. If we add any feature in future — such as analytics, embedded video, or third-party widgets — that requires non-essential cookies, we will update this policy, add a cookie consent mechanism before deploying that feature, and notify you where we hold your contact details and where it is practical to do so.
We review this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last changed.
6. More information
